Hello Cap: Just wanted to let you know how "Max" is doing. I bought Him from you last year . He's out of a June 30, 2007 litter. I've been working with him a lot since the weather has improved and the snow has melted. He is absolutely great! He came out of the box pointing. He is already absolutely staunch on point and was the first time I put him on birds at about 7 months of age. I am in the process of steadying him to flush and wing. It wont be long before he will have both mastered. My training buddy has been using pointers for yeaars (Britanys) and he is absoluty amazed at Max. He has seen a lot of GSP's over the years at trials and on hunts and is adamant that he has never seen a better performing dog than Max. Rest assured that if I or any of my hunting buddies ever need a GSP I will come back to you and will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone. You are doing a great job!! Thanks! I will attach some pictures of Kimber so you can see her progress! 2007 South Dakota opening day Pheasant season she even got an invitation to do a photo shoot for a new company MUD RIVER dog products. Thanks again
![]() I just wanted to let you know Hunt 'Em Up Jack or "Kansas Jack" as he is know to my friends is one hell of a young dog.

I just wanted to let you know that HUNT 'EM UP's Bella Lady Liberty is doing great. For a puppy she is already showing great drive and determination, she is not afraid of anything. She is already holding beautiful points on training aids and live birds @ 3 months old. I don't know if I told you this when
I picked her up but I had been looking for a GSP for a year and a half.
But one day I happened to find your web site and within 20 minutes of looking
at your dogs pedigree's and accomplishments along with the imported blood
line, which included several
As a former police K9 trainer I have found that if you take the time to watch and study a dog at a very young age it will show you (without any direction) what it's natural abilities and strengths are. Bella has already shown me that she has the heart and soul of a champion. Thank you for breeding the quality of dog's that you do. Tim Tyler
![]() I wanted to provide an update on the progress of the puppy (we named him Dvsdi Gitli) that you provided to us. I also wanted to thank you again for helping us get through the difficult sudden and tragic loss of Ogi, our 11-month old GSP puppy. Dvsdi (pronounced "Dusty") is a keeper! He is even tempered, outgoing, kennel trained (virtually immediately) and house-broken (in about 3 days!). He is a very smart GSP and has already nearly learned all basic obedience commands (lead, here, whoa, stay, sit, lay down). Best of all, he is very birdy and can
hunt! At 5 months, I couldn't let him go through the upcoming winter
without any additional training on birds. I found a nearby facility,
Pheasant Hollow Gun Dogs and Hunting Club (www.pheasanthollow.com)
that provides training assistance, space, and birds for owners to self-train
their dogs. Last week, on his very first try at finding birds (partridge-Chukars),
he scented them at a distance and went into rock-solid points on all occasions,
allowing me to flush the birds ahead of him. This week, he repeated
his amazing bird-finding abilities, pointed, didn't flinch a muscle when
I flushed and
From the standpoint of a dog lover,
I believe that no dog replaces another. We still miss Ogi very much.
However, there's no denying that Dvsdi has played a significant role in
helping us to get over our grief.
Regards,
![]() I just wanted to let you know that we were very impressed with your facility and the excellent quality of your dogs. It was very evident that you really love and care for your dogs. That was very important to us to know that we were leaving Daisy in a well cared for kennel. Janna and Shawn will decide tonight about which male to breed to and we will be in touch soon. My preferance is Rocket, but we must be in agreement so will wait on their decision. Thanks so much for your hospitality. Glenda Minnig

![]() Just wanted to drop you a note about Shotzie. I sent you some pictures of her pointing a pheasant wing. She is very stylish when she points. She also holds her point very well. You can walk around her completely with out her busting point, which I find very unusual for a pup that is 13 weeks old. Feel free to post the pictures on your web site if you want. She is a great pup and looking forward to next year, that will be her first time out. Ryan Hilty 2006-12-05 Hutchinson, Kansas ![]() John and Tracy Nebraska ![]() Jerry Henson Oroville, Ca. ![]() Patti and I can't thank you enough for allowing us to bring Shelby into our lives. Your honesty about her personality and hunting ability was perfect. You described her to a tee, which allowed us to receive the dog we had hoped for. We felt that you truly cared for Shelby when we bought her, and your thoughtful phone calls after she arrived proved this to be true. We will recommend you and your kennel at every opportunity. On our season finale hunt, Shelby and a friends Weimeriener, pointed and retrieved 18 Roosters, and 11 Chuckers. She was truly awesome. Mother Nature showed Shelby what a very wet western Oregon winter is all about this year, Shelby handled it great. We will send you some digital pictures soon, and we'll drop you a line from time to time. Thanks so much, Ron and Patti Candell
![]() Hello: Found you in my latest issue of P. D. Journal. I have added you to my breeders of interest page. I have hunted and trained my own dogs since 1966. Currently two male Shorthairs. I can't buy a dog at this time. We have four in a residential home. I am compiling info for a future purchase. Probably my last. I am familiar with most of your pedigrees. Your breeding of Kolby X Lacey would be about what I am looking for. I have over 75 Web sites on my computer. You should know yours is one of the very best!! I will be making my second trip to Kansas in Nov. and also go back to my home state of Oregon for Chukar every Oct. Mostly I hunt three species of Quail here in AZ. Cordially, Paul Burbey
![]() I enjoyed talking to you tonight & I am glad Kolby is in a good home. Keep in touch. Hank Hank Lewis

![]() Hey Cap, Just wanted to let you know how very pleased I am with Ace, the GSP puppy, that I recently purchased from you. I enjoyed meeting with you and your family and appreciate you going out of your way to meet me in Kansas City while I was scouting hunting property in Missouri. Your assessment of Ace was right on the money. He is very birdy, actually he is crazy about birds. Also, I appreciate your time and willingness to share with me some training tips. I will be looking to purchase a female from you out of one of Kolby's breedings next year. Take care. Chris Legg Thomaston, Ga. 8/22/06 Chris Legg
![]() I have been training for 20 years. I Trained with 6 pro field trial trainers and one gundog trainer. I worked with the gundog trainer for the last 10 years until he passed away. He taught me twice as much as all the field trial trainers put together. He had 50 years of training experience and 30 years from his father before he started, so you can see he knew a lot about dogs. I was fortunate enough to get in on some of that knowledge. He trained field trial dogs as well but he preferred gundogs and was great at it. I watched that man fix so many broken down dogs that it was unbelievable! He could READ A DOG like no trainer I have ever been with. In those ten years I never once seen him raise his hand to a dog. He went slow and easy with his force breaking, and had just developed a very complete program over the years that made super dogs out of a regular dog. He put a lot of training on them that most pointing dog trainers do not do. He put a lot of obedience training on them and force broke them at a young age and taught me to do the same. I don't see most pointing dogs force broke until they are two years old or more. I have trained several of Caps dogs now, and every one has been a delight to work with. They ALL are very birdie, solid on point, retrieve naturally and are very easy to break out. I also do a lot of yard work with young pointing dogs and Cap's dogs handle that as good as any I have worked with. The dogs I have worked that came from Cap were all Force Broke, Collar Conditioned, obedience trained in the yard, retrieving to hand, holding birds on command, will come in and sit at heal in the yard, I don't do this in the field, I had no problems with introducing them to the gun, and like I said, "THEY ALL ARE BIRD CRAZY!!" That makes life a lot easier on a trainer. Most of these pups all had this training on them at or before 10 months of age. I usually didn't even get them until they were 7 or 8 months old. So you can see they are intelligent, easy to work with young dogs. Their dispositions also make them very easy to train. They are hot in the field and couch potatoes in the house. He definitely has a good line of gundogs going. The pups out of his Field Champion also have this easy going disposition in the house, table or on the lead. I haven't had one yet that wasn't absolutely full of natural retrieve. I buy, train, and work with a lot of dogs every year and if they were all like Cap's I could literally train twice as many as I normally get through. They all have a great attitude when it comes to training, probably because they are well socialized and full of natural ability. I can tell you when I am looking for a couple dogs to train and sell or keep for myself I don't have to make but one call and I found what I am looking for. Thanks for the great pups Cap, when it comes to your breeding program, YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING EXTREMELY RIGHT! Thanks again, Broken Down Old Trainer From SD! Paul-Gundog Trainer
